Evacuation Shelters

Before a hurricane strike, you may have the option of evacuating (or may be required to do so). During this time, make sure you listen to local television and radio stations so you will know what emergency officials advise. If you are required to evacuate, a hurricane shelter should be your last resort. But if you decide to stay at a shelter, having a working understanding of what to expect and what you can do to ensure a safe and secure time while staying in a shelter will make your evacuation a much better one.
